  9. This is the READ.ME file for the (unregistered) version of Telix 3.22
  10. posted for BBS distribution. Telix 3.22 as posted for BBS distribution

  35. Note that while the Telix documentation has been re-formatted and
  36. cleaned up to some extent, the contents have not changed significantly
  37. since v3.10. All additions are described in TELIX322.NEW, so if you
  38. printed out the manual(s) for v3.10 to 3.21 you do not have to do so
  39. again for this release (other than the HostPlus.DOC and SIMPLE.DOC, new
  40. to version 3.20).

  145. The file TELIX322.NEW describes new features in this version of Telix.

  147. To start off you should make a copy of all the files, for safe-keeping.
  148. Hard disk users should create a TELIX directory and copy all the files
  149. into it. Floppy disk (360k) users should put the contenets of the first
  150. archive onto one disk, and optionally put the script compiler (CS.EXE)
  151. from the second archive onto that disk as well. That might leave things
  152. a bit cramped though. If there is a space problem, keep in mind that
  153. script source files (*.SLT) and the script compiler do not have to stay
  154. on your main Telix disk.  With these files on another disk, there should
  155. be plenty of space.

  157. The best way to continue is by printing out the documentation which can
  158. be done by using the DOS copy command (at the DOS prompt) to copy the
  159. file(s) to the printer, as follows:
  160.  
  161.      copy TELIX.DOC prn
  162.      copy SALT.DOC prn
  163.      copy SIMPLE.DOC prn
  164.      copy HOSTPLUS.DOC prn
  165.  
  166. Once the manual has finished printing, see the section called 'Getting 
  167. Started'.

  171. The Telix documentation is formatted to use 66 lines/page, as supported
  172. by most printers. Many laser printers print only 60 lines/page by
  173. default. Running the LASER66.COM program included will set up an HP
  174. Laserjet or compatible laser printer to print 66 lines/page, and will
  175. also allow it to print IBM lindrawing characters, which are used in the
  176. documentation.
